Aaron Rodgers Addresses the GOAT Debate

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is one of the best to ever do it. He’s right up there in the debate of the best quarterbacks to ever play.  But unfortunately, these days, to label someone a GOAT is not that simple. For one, it’s an extremely overused term.  So much so that it’s almost lost its meaning. Aaron Rodgers is fully aware that way too many people throw that term around.

He explains what the whole GOAT debate is all about.

“Do you get pissed off about the Super Bowl conversation whenever they start talking about GOATs … and it always revolves back to Super Bowls, when everybody on Earth who knows football knows that a quarterback just can’t walk onto a field and win a Super Bowl all by himself,” McAfee said.

“Pat, I don’t spend a lot of time in those conversations in general,” Rodgers said. “… There’s way too many people labeled the GOAT, or this guy’s the GOAT of this, this guy’s the GOAT of that. It used to be, greatest of all-time is one person. But now because there’s way too many GOATs, I think you have to break it out into specific categories.”

Rodgers is definitely one of the greatest QB’s to ever play. For me, that’s solely based on the eye test. He just feels better than the rest. Tom Brady of course is a true GOAT because he’s won so many Super Bowls.

Then you start talking about QB’s like Dan Marino, who never won a thing. Time will always reveal who the true GOAT is.
