48-Year-Old Manny Ramirez Is Getting Ready To Play Baseball In Australia

Manny Ramirez is back!

The former slugger has signed on to play baseball in the Australian Baseball League with the Sydney Blue Sox.

Blue Sox manager Shane Barclay says Manny has been a pleasure, and that he expects he’ll still have plenty of pop in his bat.

“We knew there’d be a Manny show but it’s been a pleasure,” Barclay told the Boston Globe. “The buy-in from him has been magnificent and just watching him swing a bat, you’re going ‘there’s no way this guy is 48’.

“He’s an incredible athlete. He’s legit and here to play and bought in in every way. He’s going to hit some long balls this season.”

Manny Ramirez hitting balls a long way is the content we need right now.

Over his 19-year MLB career, Manny hit an incredible .312 with 555 home runs. He may have gotten some help from PEDs, but that’s neither here nor there.

After Manny’s playing days, he tried his hand in coaching, working a short stint with the Cubs organization. Now, it appears the old man is ready to dust off the mitt and get back into game action. You gotta hand it to the guy, he clearly loves the game, and he’s not going to let anyone tell him when to stop playing.

Go get em, Manny Ramirez.
