Popular soccer star Megan Rapinoe is coming out with some damning dirt against former OL Reign coach Farid Benstiti.

After his firing, people weren’t exactly sure why a coach with a long record of success was shown the door, but now things are beginning to make sense.

During a recent podcast appearance, Megan Rapinoe claimed that Farid Benstiti used to ‘fat shame’ players on the team.

“He made some — it was basically like a fat-shaming comment,” Rapinoe said in a recent NPR interview . “He was talking about — he’s going to, like, take people’s food away. And I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, grow up. You just got yourself fired; you’re so stupid.'”

Megan Rapinoe also claimed that players’ circumstances kept them from speaking out against Farid Benstiti.

“But, like, just little stuff like that, where if you’re making $25,000 and you have no autonomy over your rights, you have — you’re not a free agent. You’re barely scraping by. You just came out of college. Like, you’re not going to say anything. You’re just not. It’s too difficult to put someone in that position.”

After firing the coach, OL Reign released a statement.

“We are appreciative of Farid’s many contributions to the club over the past 18 months and wish him the best in all his future endeavors,” said OL Reign CEO Bill Predmore. “We have great respect for Farid’s talents and all he brought to the organization, but in our recent conversations there was a collective agreement that new leadership was required to achieve the performances and results needed to satisfy our ambitions.”
