Is Elon Musk dipping his toes into the sports world?

After giving up on his pursuit to buy Twitter, Musk evidently has another idea: to buy Manchester United.

It all started with Musk diving into his political beliefs on Twitter. And in a comment, he mentioned plans to purchase the Premier League club.

“To be clear, I support the left half of the Republican Party and the right half of the Democratic Party!” he said, before commenting “Also, I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome”

During Manchester United’s embarrassing last two seasons, fans have grown restless, and are ready for the Glazer family to sell the team.

In the past, the Man U faithful have even started an online movement to get Elon Musk to come aboard.

Does Elon Musk Have A Real Chance Of Buying Manchester United?

According to reports, the Glazer family has set an asking price to sell their club.

Per Caught Offside:

“However, the Mirror reported last year that the American Red Devil owners have set an asking price of a staggering £4 Billion.

The Glazer family, who also own the NFL team Tampa Bay Buccaneers, bought the Premier League giants in 2005 for £790m using loans.

The relationship between the American family and United fans has never been on good terms, even when United were Premier League and Champions League winners.”

Knowing Elon Musk and his internet troll tendencies, this is all likely a big joke. But he certainly has the money to make a big splash such as Manchester United.

We’ll see if any of this goes anywhere, but we’re not expecting much…
