Former Team USA soccer goalie Hope Solo found herself in the news for all the wrong reasons on Friday.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that Solo was book on a DWI on Thursday night. Even worse? She allegedly had two kids in the car during the arrest.

Shortly thereafter, counsel for Hope Solo released a statement on her behalf.

“On the advice of counsel, Hope can’t speak about this situation, but she wants everyone to know that her kids are her life, that she was released immediately and is now at home with her family, that the story is more sympathetic than the initial charges suggest, and that she looks forward to her opportunity to defend these charges.”

According to TMZ, Hope Solo was arrested in a Walmart parking lot in North Carolina before being booked.

This isn’t the first time the 2x olympic gold medalist has gotten in troubled with the law. She has been arrested for domestic violence, as well as being accused of berating a police officer and offering to “kick his ass” in 2014.

We’ll await any more information on the troubling Hope Solo story. But it’s clear that the former goalkeeper needs some help.
