Wayne Gretzky Getting Sued A Whopping $10 Million For Allegedly Lying About Chewing Gum

The “Great One”, Wayne Gretzky, has found himself in a little bit of trouble.

According to TMZ, the NHL Hall of Famer is now getting sued for a whopping $10 Million after he allegedly lied about losing weight thanks to chewing gum.

Per the report:

“The plaintiff, Steven Sparks, says he created a “natural gum used to manage weight,” and called it “OMG gum.” He says in the suit he eventually hired on Wayne’s wife, Janet Marie Gretzky, to be a spokesperson for the product.

The problem, according to Sparks, is Wayne eventually made up a lie about the gum — saying after he chewed it for roughly a two-month span … it helped him lose 35 pounds. 

Sparks alleged Wayne used the lie to boost the company’s stock — “which he surreptitiously purchased under his family’s name.”

It would seem like common sense that a chewing gum isn’t the best way to lose weight, but you could see how this whole charade fooled plenty of people into purchasing the product.

Regardless, Wayne Gretzky is a big fish to target, and you would think that a settlement would come long before the trial for this ridiculous lawsuit.

Since retiring from the NHL, Gretzky coached the Coyotes from 2005-09, compiling a record of 193-186. He has since been hired as part of the pre and pst game crew with the TNT broadcasts.
