NHL Rules Analyst Mistakenly Drops Expletive When Breaking Down Avalanche’s Series-Clinching Goal

The Colorado Avalanche released an update on superstar center, Nathan MacKinnon, after he took a scary hit from Boston's Taylor Hall on Wednesday

The Colorado avalanche pulled off the sweep of the Oilers on Monday night. But it didn’t come without a close call.

With the game in OT, Avs forward Artturi Lehkonen caught a re-direct from Cale Makar’s shot. But it appeared as though it might have been a high-stick on second look.

As the TNT broadcast was breaking by the play, they called in rules analyst Don Koharski to give his take. And when describing how close it was to a non-goal, Koharski dropped a “holy sh-t”, before quickly recognizing he made a mistake.

Check it out:

In Koharski’s defense, it was really damn close to the shoulder-high threshold that takes precedent when a goalie makes the initial save on the shot. But in the end, it was ruled too close to overturn, and the Avs are now heading to the Stanley Cup Championship.

For the Oilers, they have two of the best players in the entire game in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, and they’ll hope some offseason upgrades (specifically at the goaltender position) will result in better results in the future.

But this year, the Colorado Avalanche sure look like the strongest team in the entire NHL. And whoever wins the series between the Rangers and Lightning will most definitely have their hands full.
