The Tampa Bay Lightining made their trip to the White House to celebrate last season’s Stanley Cup Championship on Monday. And during president Joe Biden’s speech, he had one of his most obvious mess ups to date.

While thanking NHL commissioner Gary Bettman for being in attendance, Biden very clearly pronounced the last name as “Batman”.

Lightning players behind Joe Biden couldn’t help but to start laughing.

Despite the Lightning winning the Stanley Cup three times (2004, 2020, 2021) it was there first visit to see Joe Biden at the White House.

“Pretty much everybody was on board, and everybody that could make it — former players and stuff — they all tried to make it here,” alternate captain Ryan McDonagh said via ESPN. “It’s just a great tradition that we have: You become part of a championship team, you get to go to the White House and meet the president.”

Despite his “Gary Batman” comment, it seems like the Lightning enjoyed their long-overdue trip to the Nation’s Capital.

Now, they’ll set their sights on keeping the Stanley Cup for another year.
