Noted Toronto Maple Leafs fan, Justin Bieber, wants to let Canadiens fans know his team has a leg up on their rivalry.

During a recent show in Montreal, Bieber took time away from the action to throw a little shade at all the Canadiens fans in the crowd.

“How about those Leafs though, huh?” Bieber asked the crowd.

He would proceed to take it a step farther when commending his good friend, Auston Matthews, for scoring a goal against the Canadiens during their last matchup.

“Auston Matthews is really doing some work here in Montreal,” he added.

Justin Bieber would then get booed by the Montreal crowd.

Justin Bieber has a reason to brag about his Maple Leafs these days.

While the Canadiens remain at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, the Maple Leafs have asserted themselves as a true contender. After another impressive victory over the Bruins on Tuesday night, Bieber’s Leafs improved to 42-19-5 on the season.

But as any Maple Leafs fan will tell you, they have a way of choking down the stretch in recent playoff appearances, and will undoubtedly face the tall task of going up against the likes of Tampa Bay, Florida, New York, Boston and Carolina if they want to make a run to the Stanley Cup.

Regardless, we can’t wait for playoff hockey. And by the sounds of it, neither can Justin Bieber.
