Longtime Carolina Hurricanes announcer Tripp Tracy had a lot of his fans worried on Tuesday night.

During the Hurricanes’ division-clinching win, Tracy wasn’t on the call. Instead he was sending some troubling tweets referencing his “drinking problem”.

Today, Tripp Tracy took to social media to apologize for causing a ‘distraction’ on what should have been a celebratory night for Hurricanes fans and players.

“i am disgusted with myself that on the night @canes win the Metro Division that I was an extremely unimpressive distraction. I accept and know the steps I need to take to deal with this problem. Thank you to all Huge Caniacs for being so incredibly supportive,” Tracy wrote.

For now, it’s unclear if the team will get involved in the whole Tripp Tracy situation.

But you’d think that their announcer seemingly opening up about his struggles with alcoholism should be a cause for concern for the organization.

No matter what happens next, we’re all hoping that Tripp Tracy can figure out whatever it is that he’s struggling with right now.
