Carolina Panthers receiver Robbie Anderson can’t be too happy with the news today.
After months of speculation, it was announced today that the Panthers had pulled the trigger on a Baker Mayfield trade ahead of the season.
A new QB in Carolina: The #Panthers are acquiring former No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield from the #Browns for a 2024 conditional 5th-round draft pick, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. Deal is pending a physical. All parties split the financials to make it happen. pic.twitter.com/xuTLqosmZm

Back in April, Robbie Anderson made it clear that he had no intention of playing with Baker Mayfield as his quarterback.

Whether he likes it or not, it appears as though Robbie Anderson will have to settle for Baker Mayfield throwing him passes. But for him, at least it’s not Sam Darnold.
Dating back to his days with the Jets, Robbie Anderson has had Darnold as his QB, which has obviously resulted in him having lesser numbers than other receivers around the league.
The Panthers didn’t have many options after going all-in on Sam Darnold last season. And after that experiment failed, perhaps they can get more out of Baker Mayfield.
Time will tell.
