Mac Jones is learning what it’s like to be injured in the NFL.

The New England Patriots and their quarterback Mac Jones are reportedly not seeing eye-to-eye on how they should treat his high ankle sprain. Mac suffered the injury late in the Patriots’ Week 3 home loss to the Baltimore Ravens. On Monday, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that Jones’ ankle sprain is “pretty severe”, and that it’s highly unlikely that Mac will play in Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers.

“Tests confirmed #Patriots QB Mac Jones suffered a “pretty severe” high ankle sprain in Sunday’s loss to the #Ravens, sources tell me and Rapaport.

The hope is Jones won’t need surgery. Timetable still TBD but hard to imagine he plays this week vs. the #Packers.”

Now we’re learning about a potential disagreement over his injury.  James Stewart of 98.5 The Sports Hub reported on Monday evening that Jones and the Pats “are at a disagreement” over how to proceed with his ankle injury.

According to Stewart, the team prefers that Jones returns “as soon as possible”, whereas Jones would rather “proceed with caution” and get a second opinion on his injured ankle.

With Jones likely to miss at least one game, possibly more, the Patriots will most likely go with veteran backup Brian Hoyer for the Week 4 showdown against Green Bay.

There also are rumors of a potential Cam Newton reunion in New England.
