Colin Kaepernick Reportedly Getting Hard Look From Raiders

Will the Raiders take a chance on Colin Kaepernick?

After losing backup quarterback Marcus Mariota to the Falcons, the Raiders are reportedly one of few NFL teams kicking the tires on Kaepernick’s services.

And this week, it’s being reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Vegas is bringing in Colin Kaepernick for an exclusive tryout.

Per Schefter’s report:

“Colin Kaepernick, who last played professional football in 2016 — the year he started kneeling during the national anthem to protest racial injustice — is scheduled to work out Wednesday for the Las Vegas Raiders, league sources told ESPN.

It will mark Kaepernick’s first workout with an NFL team since being exiled, and it will be the first time the former star quarterback visits with a team since he flew to Seattle to meet with the Seattle Seahawks in May 2017 before they passed on the opportunity to sign him.”

The Raiders seemingly filled the void left from Marcus Mariota when signing Nick Mullens, and trading for Patriots backup Jarett Stidham. But apparently, they see a potential fit somewhere with Colin Kaepernick.

A couple of years ago, Raiders owner Mark Davis lobbied for the exiled quarterback to have a home in the NFL somewhere, so perhaps this is him putting his money where his mouth is.

It would be nice to see Colin Kaepernick back in the NFL, and maybe the Raiders will be granting him that opportunity.

I wouldn’t hold my breath, though.
