Deshaun Watson’s suspension is not a matter of if, but when.

The Cleveland Browns’ star Deshaun Watson sat out all of last season due to ongoing criminal investigations. He didn’t play a single snap as he tried to get the hell out of Houston. Eventually his wish was granted and as we know, he’s now the QB of the future for the Cleveland Browns. Of course who knows when he’ll actually play. There could be a potential suspension looming this season, but we’ll ultimately have to wait to see what the league decides to do.

But according to an NFL insider, the suspension may just have to wait.

Tony Grossi, a Cleveland Browns analyst at 850 ESPN Cleveland, answered some fan mail regarding Watson’s situation. One fan asked if NFL will see a Deshaun Watson suspension this season. His answer was very telling.

“Originally, I thought a suspension was unavoidable. Now there is a possibility a suspension could be delayed until 2023 until the 22 civil cases against Watson are tried or settled.”

It all depends on how long it’ll take to settle his civil suits, and with as many as Watson has, it’s definitely not going to happen overnight.

Watson should have tried to settle with all his accusers so he could move past this, if not for him, then for the Browns and their fanbase.

But Watson seems hellbent on going toe to toe with all his accusers.
