Jimmy G has been linked to the Carolina Panthers for quite some time.

But the minute they pulled the trigger to trade for Baker Mayfield last week, Jimmy G was being linked to a new team. He’s currently in a state of QB limbo, as his team wants to annoint Trey Lance as the starter and future of the team moving forward. Unfortunately if they can’t find a trade partner, it will makes things all the more confusing.

Rumors have recently surfaced about Jimmy G landing on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He would be Brady’s backup for one season then take over the job.

Garoppolo’s agent Don Yee was asked about the Bucs rumors and flat out denied there have been trade talks with Tampa Bay.

See below:

Jimmy G is a winning QB that no one seems to want. Perhaps it was his decision to get surgery when he did that has hampered the Niners ability to trade him.

Either way it seems that Jimmy is not destined to once again be Tom Brady’s backup.
