George Kittle wants everyone to remain healthy.

Appearing on Cold As Balls with Kevin Hart, the San Francisco 49ers Star Tight End made the case for two regular-season bye weeks.

“There’s a huge physical toll ,” Kittle said, via Taylor Wirth of NBCSportsBayArea.com. “And like, 17 games is a lot. It’s a lot of games, with one bye, whether it’s Week Four or the bye is Week 11. I’m advocating for two byes.”

Kittle said that he needs to  spend  a “couple hundred thousand” dollars per year  just to stay healthy.   The league experimented with two byes back in 1993 but the TV networks did not love it and it was quickly scrapped.

If players are constantly hurt from too many games,  then the product on the field suffers. It’s makes a lot of sense to keep the players healthy if they can.

As far as who’s the best tight end in the league? Well Kittle is not about to weigh in on that.
