Amazon’s exclusive Thursday Night Football is causing all kinds of debate.

Amazon’s Thursday Night Football officially begins on September 15th with an AFC West matchup between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs. The NFL will have a streaming partner for the very first time to exclusively show live NFL games throughout the season. As the landscape with how we watch NFL games continues to change, another change may or may not be the football itself.

On their social media accounts, Amazon announced that they collaborated with Wilson and the NFL to create a football “exclusively for Thursday Night Football.”

What they don’t say is if the football will actually be in play during Thursday night games.

Check out the newly designed football below:

Amazon claims this new football is “faster,” “more aerodynamic,” and has “better grip.”

Russell Wilson dropped a video showing exactly how the new football looks.

Watch below:

Jerry Rice also showed off the new pigskin:

Matthew Stafford is able to throw the new ball 100 yards:

Justin Herbert was also promoting the new football:

Of course fans quickly started a debate whether or not the ball is actually going to be used.

Of course the competition committee would first have to approve the use of any new ball, and as far as we can tell, they haven’t done so.

But it’s a super fantastic marketing campaign for Thursday Night Football.

And I definitely want one for the beach.
