Deshaun Watson Finally Addresses The Sexual Assault Allegations

Throughout his whole investigation of sexual assault last year, Deshaun Watson stayed relatively quiet.

But after his blockbuster trade to the Browns last week, we knew it was only a matter of time before Watson had to face the press and answer serious questions. That day was today.

When speaking on the allegations, Deshaun Watson maintained his innocence. He also claimed he doesn’t need counseling — given that none of the stuff being said about him was true at all.

Deshaun Watson added, “I understand these allegations are serious,” Watson told reporters. “I never assaulted any woman. I’ve never disrespected any woman. I was raised to be genuine and to respect everyone around me. … I’ve never done the things that these people are alleging.”

Browns GM Andrew Berry also spoke — acknowledging that the Watson deal triggered many emotions from people across the country.

“We’re not naive to the fact that there are many people who aren’t comfortable with this transaction as we are,” he said.

Now, the Browns will hope the NFL doesn’t hand down a suspension for Deshaun Watson following their own, separate investigation. But in the meantime, questions will continue to persist about the star QB.
