Be careful what you wish for.

The Cleveland Browns are getting ready to face the New York Jets in this Sunday’s home opener, and the turf at FirstEnergy Stadium is getting a brand new look.  The Cleveland Browns officially unveiled their new midfield logo on Tuesday. It features their mascot Brownie the Elf in his “running Brownie” stance, which is pretty similar to the Heisman pose.

You can see the pic of Brownie the Elf below:

The Cleveland  Browns conducted a poll in late July that allowed Browns fans to choose the new midfield logo. It is the first time their field will have a logo at the 50-yard line since 2016. Most people will likely agree that the logo is a bit strange.  The team allowed fans to vote on four choices, two were variations of the helmet logo. The other two were different iterations of Brownie the Elf.

Brownie the Elf isn’t something new to Browns fans. It’s actually a throwback. The team used the logo a long time ago but it was reportedly deemed too childish by Art Modell in the 1960s, and Brownie was benched.

The Browns will open at home with Jacoby Brissett at QB coming off a win at Carolina. It’s very possible that people severely underestimated the Cleveland Browns heading into the season. They might just be 2-0 after Week 2, even amid the Deshaun Watson distraction.

Maybe the new logo/mascot will help them get a W against the hapless Jets.
