Last night a scary incident took place.

The Buffalo Bills issued the following update on cornerback Dane Jackson. Jackson was injured on one of the last plays of the first half during Monday’s game against Tennessee. He was taken off the field on a stretcher late in the first half on MNF. Jackson, a Buffalo Bills cornerback had tackled Tennessee’s Treylon Burks when teammate Tremaine Edmunds dove at Burks, missed, and got Jackson right in the helmet. Jackson’s head and neck were wrenched back.

“CB Dane Jackson has been taken to ECMC for evaluation of a neck injury. He will be getting a CT scan and an x-ray. Jackson has full movement in extremities.”

Jackson, 26, is in his third season out of Pittsburgh.

The entire Bills team walked onto the field to watch their teammate be loaded into the ambulance.

Following the Bills’ 41-7 victory, head coach Sean McDermott told reporters that he spoke to Jackson in the tunnel before the ambulance left for the hospital.

“You go from being a coach to just being a human when I’m out there watching him getting loaded into the ambulance. That’s a real moment,” McDermott said, via News 4 Buffalo. “Just praying for him. It’s an unfortunate situation. We’re praying for him and hopefully we get some word here soon.”
