Baker Mayfield ‘s revenge tour makes its first stop at his old home.

He’ll immediately be out for revenge in Week 1 as the Cleveland Browns head to Charlotte to take on Baker’s new squad. This is the rare occasion where the public, which for the most part grew tired Mayfield and his antics, is immediately back on his side and wants to see him destroy the Cleveland Browns, who have completely fallen out of favor with the public after getting into bed with Deshaun Watson.

Mayfield is ready to destroy his old team. On the Around the NFL podcast, Buffalo Bills reporter Cynthia Frelund relayed a brief conversation she had with Mayfield confirming that he has one mission and it’s to destroy.

See below:

A professional athlete motivated to make a statement against a former team isn’t always the best idea. For one, you give bulletin-board material to the Cleveland Browns, who may just use this as motivation. And if you don’t win, you really put yourself out there to get ridiculed. You’re better off doing your gloating after the win, but first you have to win. Mayfield is a guy who is going to say what’s on his mind and not mince words, so this declaration is pretty on brand for Baker. Also, one of the reasons he rubs people the wrong way.

Interestingly enough the Browns also want to destroy Mayfield and his Panthers.

This is why we play the game!
