Tough beat for Aqib Talib.

Former NFL player Aqib Talib will now not be joining Amazon’s “Thursday Night Football” broadcast. Aqib told the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport over the weekend, that following the arrest of his brother after a shooting earlier this month, he will be stepping away from his role with Amazon. Aqib was set to join Amazon as an analyst for its “Thursday Night Football” coverage this season.

See the report below:

Aqib brother, Yaqub Talib, turned himself into the Dallas County Jail earlier this month and is now facing murder charges after he allegedly shot and killed a youth football coach. Aqib was also there by his brother’s  side for the incident, and witnesses told WFAA last week that Aqib actually instigated the fight by crossing the field during a game and confronting referees.

Per TMZ, Aqib’s lawyer said in a statement after the shooting that he was “very distraught and devastated.”

“Aqib Talib was present when this unfortunate incident occurred and is very distraught and devastated over this terrible loss of life,” his lawyer said. “He would like to convey his condolences to the family of the victim and to everyone who witnessed this unfortunate tragedy.”

Aqib played in the league for 12 seasons from 2008-2019, first with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before spending time with the New England Patriots, Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams.

Aqib started to make a splash in the broadcast booth last season with his off the cuff remarks and stylish suits.

Amazon is losing a real buzz worthy guy.
