Adam Schefter Taking All The Heat Following Baker Mayfield Trade

During an appearance on ESPN's "Get Up" on Monday, Adam Schefter doubled-down on his report that Tom Brady will retire after the season

Everyone in the sports world is wondering the same thing today: where is Adam Schefter?

On Wednesday, it was reported that the Panthers had finalized a trade to acquire Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield.

While many reporters were announcing the Baker Mayfield news, Adam Schefter was eerily quiet for a while.

On the web, fans everywhere were lamenting how late Schefter was to the party.

Obviously, Adam Schefter had his hands in uncovering the news.

When ESPN’s Browns reporter, Jake Trotter, wrote about the Baker Mayfield trade, he credited Schefter.

“The Panthers will pay $4.85 million of Mayfield’s salary while the Browns will pay $10.5 million, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter,” Trotter wrote. “Mayfield has agreed to forgo the remainder of his $18.8 million salary to facilitate the deal, which is pending a physical, the source said.”

Perhaps Adam Schefter just decided to stay behind the scenes on this one. But it is rather weird not to see him tweeting right after a big trade…
