The NFL world is shook after the news on Wednesday that former running back Marion Barber had been found dead at his Texas apartment.
He was just 38 years old.

In the wake of the Marion Barber passing, one news outlet was getting heat for their way of breaking the news.
“JUST IN: Marion Barber III, the former Dallas Cowboys running back who scored plenty of touchdowns without recording a 1,000-yard season, has died, the team said Wednesday. He was 38,” ABC News tweeted out.

ABC was immediately trashed by fans.
Surprised you didn’t bring up the fact that he threw exactly zero touchdowns in his NFL career. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

One posts a mugshot and another talks about what he didn’t accomplish in football, the latter nauseatingly similar to the delivery of Haskins’ news, as opposed to what he did achieve and (much more importantly) meant to his loved ones and others.
As I said, the masks come off. https://t.co/PdfGvU1ouC

This is disrespectful AF! 😤 Stop throwing hate at people when announcing they've died. Do better @ABC https://t.co/C3uvqNCWo9

Marion Barber was receiving plenty of tributes from former teammates and coaches after his passing.
“I am truly heartbroken to hear the incredibly sad news of Marion Barber’s passing. He was a rare guy! Marion played the game with such passion! He had a deep-down love for football and it showed in everything that he did!” former coach Jason Garrett tweeted.
Obviously, ABC’s bizarre tweet should have been deleted by now. But unfortunately, we see news outlets posting these disrespectful messages after many deaths around the world of sports.
Rest in Peace to Marion Barber.
