Aaron Rodgers Admits He Was Attempting to Mislead Media With ‘Immunized’ Comment When Speaking About COVID Vaccine

It’s been a whirlwind year for Green Bay packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

From his public breakup with actress Shailene Woodley, to his retirement rumors, to his new relationship with a natural healing expert who goes by the name of “Blu”, Rodgers can’t seem to stay out of headlines.

But perhaps the biggest controversy surrounding the future Hall of Fame QB centers around his refusal to take the COVID vaccine.

Early on last season, Rodgers hinted that he was vaccinated by saying he was “immunized”, but we found out later in the season that he was against taking the vaccine.

During an appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast, Rodgers admitted that he phrased his original comment about the vaccine with hopes that the media wouldn’t be on his case for the rest of the season.

“I’d been ready the entire time for this question and had thought about how I wanted to answer it,” Rodgers said on the podcast via NY Post. “And I had come to the conclusion, I’m gonna say, ‘I’ve been immunized.’ And if there’s a follow-up, then talk about my process.

“But, thought there’s a possibility that I say, ‘I’m immunized,’ maybe they understand what that means, maybe they don’t. Maybe they follow up. They didn’t follow up. So then I go [into] the season them thinking, some of them, that I was vaccinated.”

When Aaron Rodgers tested positive for COVID later on in the season, the entire story blew up, becoming a headline grab for various different sports publications across the country.

“I knew at some point if I contracted COVID or if word got out, because it’s the NFL and there’s leaks everywhere, it was possible I’d have to answer the questions,” Rodgers said. “And that’s when the s–tstorm hit because now I’m a liar, I’m endangering the community, my teammates, all these people. And the attempted takedown of me and my word and my integrity began.”

After flirting with retirement and trade rumors, Aaron Rodgers signed an extension with the Packers in the offseason. And even though he lost superstar receiver, Davante Adams, Rodgers sounds like he’s excited to just play football.
