49ers Players Reportedly Say Team Is ‘Better’ Now With Jimmy Garoppolo Following Trey Lance Season Ending Injury

The Trey Lance era is not off to a great start.

The San Francisco 49ers threw Jimmy Garoppolo back in the starter’s seat after losing their QB1 Trey Lance to an ankle injury against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. If you thought the team would be down and out about this situation, the following report says privately that no one  is too upset over the situation.

Following the game on Sunday, there were said to be ‘whispers’ from within the Niners organization that some believe they may be better suited for a Super Bowl run now that Jimmy Garoppolo is the new guy moving forward.

“This is the part no one wants to say publicly, but something several players and coaches enunciated privately in the wake of Sunday’s game—the 49ers are a better team right now with Garoppolo at quarterback than they were with Lance,” Michael Silver of the San Francisco Chronicle wrote. Two sources even told Silver, “I can’t say it, but you can.”

Niners QB Jimmy Garoppolo went 3-for-21 with 154 passing yards and a touchdown pass while getting the Niners a win. Jimmy is once again the QB1 now that Trey Lance has been ruled out for the rest of the season.  It’s crazy to think how the Niners started off the offseason  trying to get rid of Jimmy G, only to sign him after they couldn’t find a trade partner for his services.  Now they’re probably pretty glad they have Jimmy G on the roster.

The impact of Trey Lance’s injury is tough for the young QB, but sadly enough, the 49ers should be better off without him as  their starter.

The Jimmy G Era is back baby!
