Stephen A. Smith Responds to Former NBA Star Calling Him an ‘Uncle Tom’

According to a report, Stephen A. Smith is going after Magic Johnson hard to be Max Kellerman's replacement as his co-host on "First Take"

14 June 2012: American sports reporter for ESPN Stephen A. Smith is seen prior to Game 2 - Heat at Thunder - of the 2012 NBA Finals, at the Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA.

Stephen A. Smith is always trending.

Former NBA player Stephon Marbury is calling out Stephen A. Smith after the ESPN pundit made critical remarks about Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving. Marbury went to Twitter to respond to Smith, who bashed Irving, saying “We are witnessing one of the most delusional athletes in American history.”

“We are witnessing one of the biggest uncle Tom’s on the planet in @stephenasmith,” Marbury said on Twitter in a reply to the talking head’s post.

Smith later spoke about Marbury’s statement on ESPN

“I’m not going to insult Stephon Marbury,” Smith said. “I will say Stephon Marbury has had a problem with me since 2009 because we thought he was a bit bizarre when he was eating Vaseline, literally on video like it was bunch of cheeseburgers.”

Meanwhile Marbury continued his assault on Stephen A.

Stephen A. is a polarizing guy, and based off how people react to him, I suppose he’s doing his job pretty well.

Smith knows what moves the needle, and unfortunately some don’t like his tactics.
