LOS ANGELES, CA - APRIL 21: Golden State Warriors Guard Stephen Curry (30) looks on after a call during game four of the first round of the 2019 NBA Playoffs between the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers on April 21, 2019 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. Steph Curry was so confident heading into Game 5 against the Grizzlies, that he thought he’d have a little fun throwing shade at Memphis prior to the game.

When asked by reporters how his team would attack the Ja Morant-less Grizzlies, Curry referenced the “Whoop That Trick” rally song the Grizzlies play during home games.

However, things didn’t go according to plan for Steph Curry and the Warriors.

They were completely outmatched and bullied by the Grizzlies, losing in blowout fashion to keep the series alive for (at least) another game.

During the affair, the Memphis fans (and Draymond Green for some reason) got a little extra rowdy when “Whoop That Trick” played during a timeout.

On the night, Steph Curry shot just 4-10 for the field, notching just 14 points in the 134-95 loss.

Now, the series will shift back to Golden State, where the Warriors will have another opportunity to put away the undermanned, but gritty, Grizzlies squad.

And luckily for Steph Curry, he won’t have to deal with the “Whoop That Trick” mantra, either.
