‘Fire Doc Rivers’ Already Trending As Sixers Fans Begin To Grow Restless

In recent playoff runs, veteran NBA coach Doc Rivers has fallen short.

But after his Sixers got off to an impressive 3-0 start in their series against the Raptors, many thought this time might be different for Rivers.

However, the Raptors have come charging back. After stealing Game Four at home, the Raptors pulled off the impressive upset win in Philly on Monday night — making the Series an uncomfortable 3-2 as they’ll now head back to Toronto for Game 6.

Even though the Sixers could obviously still weather the storm, the fan base isn’t impressed with the effort in the past two games. And they’ve specifically taken issue with Doc Rivers.

For the past 24 hours, fans have swarmed social media to call on the team to “fire Doc”.

After the game, Sixers star Joel Embiid called on Doc Rivers to motivate James Harden to be more aggressive.

“I’ve been saying all season since he got here, (Harden) needs to be aggressive and he needs to be himself,” Embiid told reporters.

“That’s not really my job, that’s probably on coach to talk to him and tell him to take more shots,” the MVP finalist continued. “Especially if they’re going to guard me the way they’ve been guarding. But that’s really not my job.”

The Raptors are beginning to exploit the Sixers for their flaws. And if Doc Rivers doesn’t make adjustments fast, Sixers fans may just run him out of town.
