Not the start NBA Rookie Chet Holmgren was hoping for.

Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Chet Holmgren will miss the entire 2022-2023 NBA season with a Lisfranc injury to his right foot, the OKC Thunder have announced. Holmgren, the No. 2 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, suffered the injury in a Pro-Am game this past weekend.

He’s been ruled out with a Lisfranc Injury to his foot.  Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report the Holmgren will be out for his entire rookie season.

See the Woj bomb below;

Holmgren suffered the devastating injury while participating in The CrawsOver pro-am event in Seattle this past weekend, which was headlined by various NBA stars including Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James. Ironically, Holmgren injured himself while trying to guard LeBron down the court. You can see how he injured himself below:

The tall skinny big man played only one season at Gonzaga, finishing with averages of 14.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game.

In his debut summer league game, Holmgren looked fantastic as he scored 13 points in the first quarter. He finished with 23 points, going 4-of-6 from three-point range and a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line.

Hopefully he can bounce back, sometimes these things can stay with you for your whole career.
