Doc Rivers was made out to be the scapegoat all throughout the 76ers’ demise in their playoff series against the Hat.

After losing the series, many fans were calling for Rivers’ head. And while there was no word on his status, reports were linking him to the vacant LA Lakers job.

Now, though, Sixers president Daryl Morey has reportedly decided that Doc Rivers will be returning to the Sixers next season.

Sixers fans were immediately upset with the Doc Rivers news.

After losing the Series to the Heat in six games, Doc Rivers spoke on the his job security.

“I don’t worry about my job, but I think I do a terrific job, and if you don’t, then you should write it, because I worked my butt off to get this team here,” said Rivers via USA Today. “When I first got here, no one picked us to be anywhere, and again this year, the same thing. So if that’s how anyone feels, write it and I’m gonna feel secure about it.”

By the sounds of it, Doc Rivers will be back on the 76ers’ bench next season, but they have a whole lot of work to do this offseason to make sure they can win a championship next season.
