Where will Kevin Durant land?

After it was revealed that KD had requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets following their tumultuous season filled with off-court issues, the early frontrunners to land Durant in a trade including teams such as the Suns, Heat and Celtics.

But now, it appears that another team is throwing their hat in the ring for Kevin Durant: the Toronto Raptors. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Raptors are ‘lurking’ in the hunt for Durant.

“I think a team that’s lurking is Toronto. They have all the kinds of pieces that you would want and their picks to do a deal for Kevin Durant,” said Woj when talking to Malika Andrews on Saturday. “And they have an organization, a leader in Masai Ujiri — you certainly saw the chance he took on Kawhi Leonard with one year left on his deal. How far are the Raptors willing to go in an offer to Brooklyn? Would they offer Scottie Barnes? I think that’s a player who under almost any circumstances they would not want to part with. But having him on their roster, Pascal Siakam, all the other talented players, contracts that might match up.

“I think you keep watching Toronto to see how involved they might get for Kevin Durant.”

Kevin Durant is believed to be intent on playing next season with the Suns or Heat. But given that he still has three years remaining on his Nets contract, he doesn’t have all too much leverage in the matter.

Obviously, many teams would love to have a player of the same caliber as Durant, but given the plethora of young talent and draft picks the Raptors have at their disposal, they’re now viewed as a very real threat to land KD.

To this point, it seems like a foregone conclusion that Kevin Durant will not be back with the Brooklyn Nets. And perhaps he’ll be in Toronto before too long.
