Leave it to John Oliver to explain some fake news.

Last Week Tonight focused on the Philippine election this past weekend. As with any good John Oliver segment, there was plenty information dished out. Most notably, this one about some viral fake news regarding former Philippines president Ferdinand Marcos and Michael Jordan.

You can watch the segment below:

To give you a quick recap, the story goes Marcos and his family were celebrating the holidays in Wilmington, North Carolina when the President stumbled upon what would have been a 6-year old Michael Jordan begging in a park. Marcos then gave him some bread popular in the Philippines and told him he would grow up to be someone special.

Now that’s rich.

The first clue this story was BS is who the hells vacations in Wilmington, North Carolina??

Fake news!
