Matt Barnes Slams Patrick Beverley Over ‘Disrespectful’ Chris Paul Comments

Veteran point guard Patrick Beverley has denied the long standing story that he told Steph Curry 'the next five years are mine' in 2019

LOS ANGELES, CA - APRIL 18: Golden State Warriors Guard Stephen Curry (30) and Los Angeles Clippers Guard Patrick Beverley (21) react to a play that Beverley was called for a foul and a technical foul during game three of the first round of the 2019 NBA Playoffs between the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers on April 18, 2019 at Staples Center in Las Angeles, CA.(Photo by Brian Rothmuller/Icon Sportswire)

Pat Bev knows exactly what he’s doing.

ESPN invited Patrick Beverley to join the morning shows and unleash his inner hater in front of a national audience. Beverley had Chris Paul in his crosshairs and his viral moment came when he told Stephen A. Smith that Paul was a “traffic cone” on defense.

Beverley’s comments were amusing but they weren’t entirely accurate. Matt Barnes noticed this and decided he had to say something during an episode of NBA Today.

Watch below:

Beverley blasting Paul right after the worst loss of the future Hall of Famer’s career is very on brand for Pat Bev.

Chris Paul is not a young man, so no one is taking Beverley’s comments to heart. CP3 is still one of the great ones regardless if he ever wins a ring.

He’ll be placed in the same category as Karl Malone and Charles Barkley..
