Chicago Bulls point guard Lonzo Ball figured to be a lock to return to the lineup late in the season after a knee injury earlier in the year.

But after a series of setbacks, it was announced this week that Ball was being shut down for the rest of this season.

While Lonzo Ball undoubtedly wishes he could join his teammates for the playoffs later in the month, he’s keeping a positive outlook after the disappointing season.

Ball took to Instagram on Wednesday afternoon to send a message to his fans.

“One step back Two steps forward… Appreciate all the love I’ll be back better than ever,” Ball wrote on an Instagram post.

Lonzo Ball joined the Bulls after being the Pelicans point guard for the past few seasons. In his short time with the team, Ball proved to be a difference-maker on both sides of the court.

With the way the Bulls are trending, it’s becoming increasingly unlikely that the team will make any sort of run in the playoffs this year — especially without Ball’s services.

But with that being said, the Bulls franchise is in a much better spot than they were one season ago. And perhaps they’ll have even more acquisitions coming in to join Lonzo Ball come next season.
