Lakers Reportedly Interested In Doc Rivers Despite Dismal Playoff Showing

Since his glory days with the Celtics in the late 2000s, Doc Rivers has fallen off a bit.

After failing to get the Clippers to the promised land, Rivers has been tasked with the same goal when signing on with the 76ers. But so far, it’s the same story.

All throughout their playoff run this season, Rivers took heavy criticism from his fan base for how he handled critical in-game adjustments and decisions.

Sure enough, Doc Rivers fell short yet again — losing the series to the Miami Heat in six games.

While 76ers fans are still calling for a head coaching change, it’s been reported that another team might be trying to pry Rivers away, anyways: the Los Angeles Lakers.

After firing Frank Vogel, the Lakers have been linked to several coaches including Doc Rivers, Quin Snyder and Mark Jackson.

I don’t think Lakers fans will be too excited with the potential of bringing in Rivers at this stage of his career. But you would think LeBron James will have a large say in who his next head coach is.

Given the rapport Doc has built with LeBron over the years, don’t be surprised if they try to make that marriage work is LA.
