After the Lakers decided to part ways with head coach Frank Vogel, many coaches were linked to the gig.

Earlier in the offseason, it was reported that LeBron James would be thrilled if the team decided to hire former Warriors head coach Mark Jackson.

“And here’s a tidbit to monitor as the Lakers conduct their latest coaching search: Sources say James would be very enthused by the prospect of Mark Jackson landing the job,” The Athletic’s Sam Amick reported. “But as history tells us, that doesn’t mean it will actually happen.”

Well, apparently betting sites are currently thinking the Lakers will grant LeBron James’ wish to make Mark Jackson their next head coach.

According to Bovada, Jackson is the favorite to become the Lakers coach at +125 odds. He’s followed by David Fizdale (+400), Doc Rivers (+600), Nick Nurse (+600), and Mike Brown (+800) to round out the top five.

So far, the Lakers have maintained that they have no leader, and will be doing an expansive search to find Frank Vogel’s successor. But when push comes to shove, don’t be surprised if the Lakers end up going with Mark Jackson to make his return to the bench.
