Since joining ESPN’s “First Take”, JJ Redick has made a habit of burying whichever talking head is sitting across from him. And today, CJ McCollum joined Redick to help take care of Stephen A. Smith’s latest take regarding Russell Westbrook.

On Monday, Westbrook showed up to new Lakers coach Darvin Ham’s introductory press conference, and Stephen A didn’t like that one bit.

Immediately, both JJ Redick and CJ McCollum teamed up to explain to Stephen A why he was dead wrong about Russell Westbrook supporting the new head coach.

Check it out:

Even if Stephen A. Smith’s point about a potential Russell Westbrook trade coming to fruition, it’s hard to knock the point guard for supporting his situation at this present moment.

Either way, with Westbrook’s large contract for next season, it appears that the team is set on riding him out instead of eating salary for him to play elsewhere.

“Russ is one of the best players our league has ever seen, and still there’s still a ton left in that tank,” Ham said during the presser.

You gotta side with CJ McCollum and JJ Redick here… good for ESPN to finally bring in some players who can better judge certain situations.
