Looks like Tom made a promise to Gisele he had to keep.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady missed an excused 11 days for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the preseason, and it had everyone freaking out, and it was also a concern for the Buccaneers, as they were without their star quarterback to keep things together during training camp. With all of the rumors surfacing about what he was really doing, including one wild rumor that he was on the masked singer, none of them made very much sense and no one had any clue what was going on with Tom and all the various rumors.

We have since found out that Tom Brady took a family trip with his wife and kids to the Bahamas. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media offered new insight into the mystery trip.

Via NFL.com:

“As for his 11-day hiatus, sources say Brady spent the bulk of it in the Bahamas at a private resort with his family, making good on a mid-retirement promise he made to his wife, Gisele, that he would vacation with them in August for the first time in two decades,” Rapoport wrote. “During his time off, the Bucs left him alone to be with his family, fully respectful. There were no football conversations, the source said, no playbooks mailed to the Bahamas. It was his personal situation, and they allowed him to live.”

Of course with Tom’s absence largely being kept a secret, several tabloid reports suggested the power couple might be dealing with some marital issues, and there was also even a wild rumor about Tom having plastic surgery.

Tom being the ultimate professional, threw for 212 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Buccaneers’ 19-3 win against the Cowboys.

Bündchen publicly expressed support for Brady ahead of his season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

Hopefully this is the last we hear about the Mystery Bahamas trip.
