Video: Fan Behind White Sox Dugout Had To Remind Tony La Russa To Use Pinch Runner Late In Game

It sure seems like White Sox manager Tony La Russa is losing it.

Earlier in the season, a video caught the 77 year old skipper going in and out of sleep from the home dugout. And this week, one of our sources gave some pretty damning information on the Hall of Famer.

Last night, it was some more embarrassing happenings for Tony La Russa.

Late in the game with the White Sox mounting a rally, La Russa had big outfielder Eloy Jimenez on second base in a critical situation. Even though the Astros had a mound meeting, La Russa waited until the last second to call time out in order to get speedster Adam Engel to pinch run for the slugger.

Now, we might know why.

This morning, a video is goin viral all over the web of a fan behind the White Sox dugout yelling for La Russa to pinch run Engel. Finally, Tony takes the man’s advice.

Check out the video below:

Luckily for Tony La Russa and the White Sox, the run would end up scoring, and they ended up securing one of their biggest wins of the season coming back from a 2-0 deficit in the eighth inning.

Tonight, La Russa’s boys will be back it on the South Side of Chicago, as two Cy Young candidates — Dylan Cease and Justin Verlander — are set to square off against each other.

As it stands, the White Sox are two games behind the Guardians for first place in the AL Central. And the pennant race seems destined to come down to the final week.

Down the stretch, the White Sox could really use a more alert Tony La Russa calling the shots from their dugout.
