Yankees Announcer John Sterling Had Another Classic Screw Up

New York Yankees radio announcer John Sterling really needs to get some better eye glasses or something, because he has really made a habit out of getting the whole play wrong from time-to-time.

Earlier in the year, he was sure Giancarlo Stanton hit a huge game-tying home run against the Blue Jays. And deep into his patented home run call, he finally realized the ball was caught — making for an extremely awkward moment.

On Monday night, John Sterling was at it again.

Once again, against the Blue Jays, Sterling clearly thought a ball was gone that did not leave the park. This time, it was Blue Jays third baseman Matt Chapman who hit a deep drive. It took Sterling a longggg time to figure out that Giancarlo Stanton made a nice play, and it was not a solo shot.

Luckily for John Sterling and Yankees fans everywhere, this one actually went in their favor.

And in the end, the Yankees were able to extend their winning streak to 10 straight games when Gleyber Torres came through with a go-ahead RBI in the ninth.

Hopefully for John Sterling, though, he’s able to see the action a little more clearly for the rest of the season.
