Washington Nationals manager Dave Martinez knows he lost a special talent in Juan Soto.

Earlier today, it was revealed that the Padres had acquired Soto ahead of the deadline in one of the biggest blockbuster deals we’ve ever seen in the MLB.

Ahead of their game against the Mets, Nationals manager Davey Martinez spoke on the Juan Soto trade.

The skipper even revealed what he told the young superstar before he headed to San Diego.

Juan Soto appeared to be a National for the long haul until it was revealed that he declined a contract extension worth over $400 Million a few weeks back.

Now, it’s clear that Martinez’s Nats have fully embraced the rebuilding route, and will start with the massive haul they received for Soto.

As for San Diego? They now have one of (if not the most) lethal offenses in the entire league, and would seem to have World Series aspirations for this season.

It’ll be must watch TV when Juan Soto makes his debut for the Padres.
