Extremely Bizarre Zack Greinke Story Goes Viral

Kansas City Royals pitcher Zack Greinke has been known as one of the weirder dudes in all of sports for some time now. And a story from over the weekend just goes to show why.

Apparently, a fan was holding out a ball to Greinke during pregame, when the veteran pitcher walked over. Obvioulsy, the fan thought the right-hander was granting his wish for an autograph. But then, Zack took the ball and chucked it across the field.

When the fan asked Zack Greinke why he would do such a thing, he simply answered that the move was ‘for his amusement’.

“Right before I took this picture Greinke acted like he was about to sign my ball… he came over grabbed the ball and looked at me and then chucked it as far as he could. I asked why he did that…. he said ‘for my amusement.’ Weirdest player I’ve ever met,” the fan said.

Being as Zack Greinke was the person in question, many were quick to completely buy-in to this fan’s account.

“I totally believe this. My son and I are Dodgers fans and we saw him in Atlanta in 2013-14. Always blows the kids off, doesn’t smile, doesn’t engage. An old cab driver once told me if they look strange, they is strange. That’s Zach Greinke,” a fan commented.

Zack Greinke has had a long, storied career, but has struggled out of the gates this year. So far, he’s 1-4 with a 4.68 ERA in his return back to KC.

We’ll see how much longer he can go before deciding to hang em up.
