Notoriously Awful MLB Umpire Angel Hernandez Trending Following League’s Announcement

MLB umpire Angel Hernandez is hilariously trending on Monday after a video of a clearly drunk Mexico league umpire started circulating the web

September 18, 2010: Home plate umpire Angel Hernandez (55) with his mask off prior to the game between the Washington Nationals and the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Phillies beat the Nationals, 5-2.

MLB umpire Angel Hernandez is now going to have to get on the mic to explain his horrible calls.

Just before Opening Day, the MLB announced that this season, umpires will be required to announce review decisions to the stadium after they make their decision.

Immediately after the decision was announced, social media was blowing up with jokes at the expense of Angel Hernandez.

Check out some of the best ones:

Angel Hernandez had been in the news last year after his lawsuit was tossed out.

He had been suing the MLB, alleging that he was discriminated on based on his Cuban descent for larger roles in the postseason.

“The court concludes that no reasonable juror could find that MLB’s stated explanation is a pretext for discriminatory motive,” U.S. District Judge J. Paul Oetken wrote in granting MLB’s motion for a summary judgment last year.

Now, Angel Hernandez remains one of the longest tenure umpires in the game. And I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot of him on the mic this upcoming season.

Buckle up.
