Alert Pujols is back where it all started.

After a long offseason, it was announced late Sunday night that the veteran slugger was going back him to St. Louis to presumably finish his career as a member of the Cardinals.

On Monday, Albert Pujols arrived to the Cardinals’ Spring Training game. And to the surprise of no one, The Machine walked into the stadium to an ovation from many fans who got their early just to welcome back the old friend.

Check out the moment below:

Albert Pujols spent the first 11 years of his storied career in St. Louis before joining the Angels on a massive deal. When it’s all said and done, Albert will undoubtedly go into the Hall of Fame as a member of the Cardinals.

Now, it appears that Albert will get to ride off into the sunset with the longtime Cardinals core centered around him, Yadier Molina and Adam Wainwright.

Last season, Pujols split time with the Angels and Dodgers. While he only hit .236, his stats dramatically improved when playing on a part-time basis for the contending Dodgers team.

Now, Albert Pujols will have a chance to give Cardinals fans some nostalgia while going out to a hero’s ovation all season long.
