Rory McIlroy Slams Brooks Koepka Following LIV Golf Move

Rory McIlroy became the first PGA player to come to the aid of Bryson DeChambeau amid the constant "Brooksy" taunts and fan ejections

Rory McIlroy has made himself a spokesman (of sorts) for the PGA with the conception of LIV Golf.

In the past, McIlroy has spoken out against stars who are leaving the PGA in their prime in order to join LIV, so it’s no surprise that he had some choice words for Brooks Koepka after he made the leap earlier in the week.

Specifically, McIlroy was asked about Koepka (and others) pledging their allegiance to the PGA Tour before ultimately jumping ship.

“They say one thing and then do another,” Rory said on LIV golfers.

After winning a PGA tournament a couple of weeks ago, Rory McIlroy made sure to throw shade at LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman, being as he now has one more win than he ever did in his illustrious career.

“This is a day that I’ll remember for a long, long time. 21st PGA Tour win, one more than someone else. That gave me a little bit of extra incentive today and I’m happy to get it done,” he said at the time.

It’s clear that Rory McIlroy has a deep disdain for LIV Golf and its participants. But perhaps the competition could be good for the overall growth of the sport.
