PGA star Justin Thomas knows the LIV speculation is aplenty right now. So when he announced he was withdrawing from this weekend’s Travelers Championship, he thought he might as well get out in front of the buzz.

Luckily for the PGA and its fans, Thomas will not be the latest member to jump ship for LIV Golf, he just has a bad back at the moment.

“Before the rumors start flying, I have decided to WD to treat and rest my back which I tweaked earlier this week. Just making sure I get it taken care of and ready for the rest of the PGA season as planned. Hate to be missing one of the best/my favorite events,” he tweeted out Wednesday morning.

Justin Thomas has been one of the main advocates of the PGA since LIV’s conception, but several members have already gone back on their words to join the more financially-beneficial LIV Golf.

Earlier in the week, it was announced that Brooks Koepka would be joining brother Chase in LIV Golf, joining stars such as Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson and Bryson DeChambeau.

So far, other PGA stars have been rumored to be joining the new tour, but there have not been any more announcements regarding big names as of yet.

We’ll hope to see Justin Thomas back competing in PGA events soon.
