Is Jordan Spieth gearing up to be the next PGA star to leave for the viral LIV Golf tour?

Well, according to him: absolutely not.

Despite rumors popping up this week that Jordan Spieth was “in talks” to join LIV Golf, he took to social media to make it clear that he plans to star with the PGA.

“Because of the false reporting today, I feel the need to comment,” he wrote. “Let me be clear, any reports that I’m contemplating competing anywhere other than the PGA Tour are categorically untrue. I am NOT in discussions with LIV. I have been quoted on the record for months that I fully support the PGA Tour and have never considered any alternatives. My goal has not changed since I began playing golf — to win PGA TOUR events and major championships, and to compete against the best players in the world. Those who truly know me, know what is most important to me,” Spieth said in a statement.

Jordan Spieth’s agent also categorically denied the latest claims.

“Jordan is not in discussions with LIV and is fully supportive of and happy on the PGA Tour,” Jay Danzi told the real Golf Monthly.

Since bursting onto the scene as a young player, Jordan Spieth has struggled mightily to find any consistency on the PGA Tour.

Sure, he’ll show flashes of his former self here and there. But all in all, he’s been a mere shell of the player we thought we’d see when he dominated majors in 2015.

Now, Jordan Spieth is still fighting to stay among the game’s elites. And he’ll hope to continue that fight with the PGA Tour.

We’ll see Spieth in The Open next weekend.
