If you remember, LIV Golf was the last thing Brooks Koepka wanted to talk about heading into the US Open last week.
In fact, Koepka went on a contentious rant against reporters who insinuated he was thinking about leaving the PGA for the Saudi-backed league, saying they were taking away from the great US Open Tournament and that he hadn’t put any thought into LIV yet.

So when it was announced that Brooks Koepka would, in fact, be joining LIV Golf earlier today, many pointed at the US Open interview when trashing the longtime golfer.
Few performances have ever been less sincere than Koepka’s “how dare you, I haven’t even thought about this” routine at the US Open last week. Jena was more convincing and committed to a role in the Sharknado movie.

Koepka can of course take the $, but it's worth pointing out …
• he's said repeatedly over the years he doesn't play for money (lol). Cares about competition!
• he conveniently waited for other big names to take the LIV heat first
• he was comically full of shit last week— Brendan Quinn (@BFQuinn) June 21, 2022
Hahaha, Brooks Koepka gets all pissy at reporters for asking about the murderous regime's for series and whether he would go. Meanwhile, that pos was just ducking questions. Brooks, you're as soft as baby shit

Yea. How dare you @BKoepka ? What a farce you are. I hope the @chambleebrandel’s of the world and the Golf Press, do a number on your hypocritacle ass! https://t.co/88UFkKh5Ig

So far, Brooks Koepka has not commented on his LIV Golf move, but given his elongated slump on the PGA Tour, it’s not wholly surprising that he’s jumping ship for the money at this juncture.
Interestingly enough, though, Koepka still has not pulled out of the PGA Tour’s Travelers Open this weekend, so he could still technically compete before his LIV Golf news becomes official.
Either way, it’s now clear that Brooks Koepka’s US Open tirade was all just a cover for the fact that he already had his mind made up that he was going to be joining LIV Golf.
