Just imagine how popular baseball would be if they allowed tackling.

College baseball is in full swing as Weatherford hosted North Central Texas College for a doubleheader on Wednesday as part of North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference play. In the top of the sixth inning of the first game, NCTC’s Josh Phillips cracked a home run that put the Lions up 3-2 on the Coyotes.

Weatherford’s pitcher was not having it, and tackled the hell out of Phillips.

Watch below:

Phillips did get up following getting crushed and made sure to touch home base.

Twitter had some thoughts:

Someone needs to get that pitcher to try out for football in the fall.
